1. Access Overview

  1. Depending on their LabSpaces and Projects invitations, users may have different access permissions in the following two areas:
    1. Access permissions in LabSpace
    2. Access permissions in Project

2. Access permissions in LabSpace

  1. Owner & Manager: Users with Owner (LabSpace creator) and Manager level access. Their access allows to 1) manage LabSpace and 2) edit members’ access. Multiple Managers can exist in LabSpace. *Owner has separate access to delete and delegate ownership of the LabSpace.
  2. Member (Researcher): A researcher who is a general member participating in LabSpace. A member is assigned a role according to Project's access role within their own Project or a shared project.

3. Access permissions in Project

  1. Project Manager: Manages the Project by assigning the roles of shared members in the Project.
  2. Editor: a general member (and researcher) participating in the Project who can create or write folders, LabNotes, and files within the joined Project.
  3. Viewer: a general member (and researcher) participating in the Project who can view but cannot create or write folders, LabNotes, and files within the joined Project.

4. Access permissions in LabNote

  1. Creator: Creators are the ones that created the LabNote. Creators can write, edit, or delete LabNotes.
  2. Shared Member: Shared Members are the ones who received shared LabNotes. Shared Members cannot edit the LabNotes but view shared notes.
